Announcement

Hi Everyone,
I’m very proud (and also a little overwhelmed) to announce that our proposal for the Technology Training Initiative was accepted by HP and we are the Australian winners for their Micro Enterprise Grant for 2008!!!

This is a very big step for me both professionally and personally but it means that I must be doing something right!!!

In putting everything together, the greatest complexity of it all was that I essentially had to sell nothing more than an idea to people, with nothing concrete to back it up other than my personality, drive and passion for the project. These sort of deals are quite rare but as I’ve proved - it can be done!

Thank you to everyone involved with our proposal and helping me turn dreams into reality. A very special thanks goes to Jack Hughes from the BEC for putting up with an inexperienced youngster with a passion for community development; Jaysin and Natty P who helped with the whole concept; Grant from HP who’s creative networking skills facilitated this whole initiative in the first place; Rob and Marni from HP for their encouragement with the proposal; Andrew from Microsoft and Doug from DBERD to putting their faith in the project; and last but certainly not least Peter who’s continued mentoring has seen me push all the boundaries in my career.

Today marks a win for the little guys.
